In 1988 the band made its first trip abroad; a concert tour of Hochsaurland in Germany. This visit developed links with both the area and a German band, Neheim-Husten Fanfarenkorps. The following year a partnership was agreed and since then both bands have taken part in several exchange visits. The Band last visited Neheim in July 2016.
We were pleased to welcome the Fanfarenkorps to Bathgate for a very short visit in June 2018.
In June 2002, the band welcomed the Lemvig Amatorokester from Denmark and organised various trips and concerts for them. They held a joint concert in the Regal Theatre in Bathgate.
Some of the younger members of the Band took part in an International Music Camp in Cran-Gevrier, France in July 2011 as part of the twinning agreement between the towns of Bathgate and Cran-Gevrier. This music camp also involved young musicians from Italy. We hosted the second International Youth Music Camp in Scotland in 2012 involving 30 young musicians from Scotland, France and Italy and produced a CD of their finale concert.
A third successful Youth Music Camp took place in Piossasco, Italy in July 2013 which again involved the three nationalities.
